Sharon's class is part labor/birth prep and part patient/self advocacy. You don't have to be medically versed to ask your care team for more information or decline their suggestions or receive reassuring support. I was skeptical about doing this class online but found that practicing labor positions in the comfort of my home (where I might actually be laboring) was far superior than doing it in an onsite classroom surrounded by a bunch of strangers (who are now a supportive texting community sharing resources). Sharon keeps it super real, funny, engaging, and always always data-driven. She approaches birth from a gender-neutral and judgement-free perspective, allowing for a diversity of birthing people, families, and beliefs to be welcome. Her use of online classroom tools is unmatched! Could not recommend this class highly enough.

I took Sharon's early pregnancy class virtually in May, and it was a super helpful way to get my bearings and to feel more prepared about having a baby. Sharon has tons of experience and offered so many resources, and since the class was small, we got lots of individual attention and support. It wasn't a huge time commitment either, and very doable for a working person. I highly recommend it!

Sharon's childbirth course took us through diverse labor and delivery concepts that we would not have covered without her BBYW course (birth positions, cpr, child seat safety, post baby delivery care, breastfeeding, medical decision-making). My partner and I looked forward to spending 2.5 hours each week with her, and felt more prepared for our first birth after every session. Sharon has incredible bedside manner, is extremely knowledgeable and imparts her technical knowledge in an impartial, judgement-free environment. She encourages students to come together to learn and enter parent hood as a community (whatsapp groups, online video collaboration) and truly cares for each and every one of her course participants. We are truly indebted to her for imparting her knowledge/wisdom on us, and feel empowered to deliver in a way that is tailored to our own preferences and who we are. Sharon's class helped me feel more prepared going into this birth with understanding the different elements of labor progression, how to ask questions to get information and advocate for myself, understanding recommended birth practices, and practicing pain management and comfort measures. I highly recommend her classes as a holistic way to prepare for childbirth!

I am very glad I took her birthing and baby course. I learned pretty much everything: coping skills for giving birth, all the options and possibilities while giving birth, breast feeding tips and tricks, what to expect with newborn, cpr and baby safety and more. After I gave birth the nurses at the hospital complimented me and said I did not seem like a first time mom because of how much knowledge I had and how successful I was in getting a proper latch while breastfeeding. I honestly owe it all to this course. I highly recommend families participate in her courses because once baby is born.. it's game time and boy am I glad I was better prepared ahead of time! There were a lot of families that took the course and we have a group chat where we communicate about how pregnancy is going and we share our birthing stories and experiences. Having this community feels like a warm hug because pregnancy can be lonely at times and having a whole group of people to talk to is helpful. That is another aspect of the class I really liked.

I was lucky enough to take my doula certification class with Sharon. She is so knowledgeable and provides clear concise information. I recently took another class on lactation with Sharon that once again was effective, informative and engaging. I look forward to more classes.

I took Sharon's virtual doula workshop, and I could not recommend the experience enough for anyone interested in doula work. Sharon managed to keep me engaged in the material throughout the workshop by using both evidenced-based research and her real-life experience as a doula. There were actually times where I wished class lasted longer because I was enjoying the content she presented so much, which is rare for online workshops where I feel like distractions are everywhere. Sharon is respectful of all people and experiences, and I always felt that my questions were answered appropriately and all feedback was valued. Overall, I am tremendously thankful to have gotten the opportunity to learn from Sharon, and her impact will continue to follow me throughout my career!

I highly recommend taking Sharon's Birth & Baby Your Way class. She presents a lot of information in an engaging way - it's definitely geared toward those who want to be more hands-on and interactive with their learning. I felt the class leans toward unmedicated birth with minimal interventions (which is what I wanted), but Sharon does a good job of preparing you for all potential interventions/complications and equips you to make educated decisions. I gave birth in a large hospital where the care is more clinical than personal, but I was able to advocate for my birth preferences since I knew the pros/cons of the recommended interventions. Sharon even had a class activity where we practiced disagreeing with a care provider's recommendation; this was eye-opening for me as I tend to avoid conflict and follow authority. I think if I had not been prepared for all these possibilities in advance, I would have easily gone along with the care team's recommendations and would not have felt any control over my birth experience. The birthing course is definitely more in-depth than many other options, but I think it's perfect for those who want thorough preparation and education about their upcoming birthing experience.

Sharon was a breath of fresh air to us! Especially with all the information out there - she was immensely helpful in sorting through all the resources and data around preparing for birth and does so without judgment! We really enjoyed all the different application and tools during the sessions to help with improved retention as well.
